8 Things to Know About the Recently Introduced Mental Health Care Bill

About Big Red Carpet Nurse (1750 Articles)
Along with other stuff I enjoy that pays the bills (a plus!), I'm a budding nurse comic. I plan, like fake Opthomologist Rand Paul, to create my own professional organization solely so it will grant me a Doctorate. In my case, the org will be something like the AANC (American Association of Nurse Comics), and it will (trust me on this point) agree to make me the first ever DNC: Doctor of Nurse Comedy. I'll keep you posted!

  1. Sadly, I have to agree with what Greg said above (although I’m a layperson with respect to healthcare, unlike Greg). Prisons or the streets (homelessness) seem to be the largest providers. With that in mind, I am ever-thankful to have access to good-quality mental health care.

  2. I’m not familiar with the U.S. mental health issues but find this interesting. The Bill seems to consider the patient’s welfare. What are uprising thoughts on it Greg?

    • Sadly, most Americans at them moment see so little hope of Congress passing anytihng but tax cuts and symbolic gestures that very few of us even bother with bills, most of which serve as gestures, “Look at what I failed to get done but at least I tried” sorts of things. Mental health care in America is extrmely uneven; if many if not most areas, prisons serve as the primary provider. – Greg
