Prosthetic Limbs, Controlled by Thought

About Big Red Carpet Nurse (1750 Articles)
Along with other stuff I enjoy that pays the bills (a plus!), I'm a budding nurse comic. I plan, like fake Opthomologist Rand Paul, to create my own professional organization solely so it will grant me a Doctorate. In my case, the org will be something like the AANC (American Association of Nurse Comics), and it will (trust me on this point) agree to make me the first ever DNC: Doctor of Nurse Comedy. I'll keep you posted!

  1. It is awe-inspiring! I can’t help thinking however, that this is a case of ‘which came first? The chicken or the egg? Will robots be built in the future from the inspiration behind the sci-fi robots in the movies or were the robots an inspiration for the movies and comic-books? The fact that the Pentagon’s defence research agency have donated a sizeable sum towards the research provides food for thought. It IS a worthwhile project never-the-less and I hope further success will mean that combat soldiers and amputees like Les Baugh can be helped.

    • Fiction provides ideas and inspiration. Arthur Clarke of 2001 fame was the first person to propose the idea of communication satelites, I’ve read. As for DOD funding, at least some of it gets something useful done for people.
